Our story began in 1911 with a simple goal: supporting the well-being of babies and mothers. Founded in Böhlen near Leipzig, we became the first company in Germany to make infant milks, pioneering gentle, nutritious alternatives for families at a time when options were limited. Since those early days, weʼve grown, moved to the Allgäu, and expanded our care, with our commitment never wavering. Our generations of knowledge and experience and commitment to natural nourishing care is what sets us proudly apart from all the rest.

This is milk
Our infant milks are exclusively made with cowʼs milk from the heart of the Allgäu on specially certified family farms practicing in cruelty free and ecological production. Picture cows within heavenly lush meadows with acres to graze in the summer and cozy stables in the winter for shelter. These lucky cows are solely fed organic feed free from GMOs, antibiotics, and growth hormones. Each liter must pass the highest of quality and safety standards and we keep things local by ensuring the milk travels short distances for freshness and a smaller footprint to boot. Why go through all this trouble? Because nothing is too good for you, your baby, and our planet.
Sustainable from the start
Sustainability has never been a trend for us, itʼs how weʼve always done things at Töpfer. From the way our dairy farmers care for their animals to how we source our raw materials, being ecologically conscious is simply our standard. We rely on sustainable agriculture, completely avoid genetic engineering, and treat all nature with the same quality of care we provide for moms and babies. The Allgäu is our home, it is a truly special place that we feel a strong responsibility to protect and preserve it for the future generations. That means prioritizing regional sourcing wherever possible, using certified organic ingredients, and running on 100% green electricity. Weʼre constantly looking for ways to reduce our energy use, minimize waste, and give back, from our environmental efforts or social projects in our community. Because at Töpfer, doing better for the planet goes hand in hand with doing whatʼs right for families.
